Wenqi Ma

Cello

Wenqi Ma, born in Ningxia, China. Since starting on the cello at six years old, she has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra musician in many cities in China and Austria. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree from the School of Arts of Xiamen University, she received her Master of Music degree in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with Professor Jennifer Culp, and is now studying at the School of Music of Michigan State University for DMA degree with Professor Suren Bagratuni.


In the summer of 2016, she won the sixth prize of the 2016 International Competition for String Concerto held by the Second American Famous Music Festival which held by the University of Delaware. In 2017, attended the "Internationale Sommerakademie Bad Leonfelden" music festival in Austria and studied with Christoph Richter.
